Tracking data shows three Iran-linked tankers, holding roughly six million barrels of Iranian crude oil, travelling across the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday following their seizure by the United States.
Although the vessels’ transponders show no designated destination, maritime tracking website TankerTrackers reported on X that the ships are heading toward the United States, carrying cargo valued at nearly $600 million.
Maritime platform Kpler revealed that one vessel, the Majestic X, briefly set its destination to the US between July 31 and August 2 as it left Malaysian waters for the Atlantic.

Currently, the Majestic X and a second vessel, the Tifani, are sailing off Brazil’s northern coast. US forces seized both vessels in April after they loaded oil in Iran, despite transponders originally indicating destinations in China and Singapore.
At the time, the US Department of War confirmed on X that the seizures aimed to disrupt illicit networks supporting Iran.
The third vessel, a supertanker named Lenore, entered the Atlantic via South Africa’s Cape of Good Hope on Tuesday after US forces interdicted it in the Indian Ocean in early June without a specified destination.
The US sanctioned all three tankers under programmes designed to restrict Iranian crude exports.
These actions follow a US blockade of Iranian ports, launched after Iran shut the Strait of Hormuz in response to joint US-Israeli military strikes in late February.
