Kenyan Flydubai Crew Credited With Rescuing Pilot

Two Kenyan flight attendants played a vital role in regaining control of a FlyDubai Boeing 737 after a co-pilot launched a violent mid-air attack on the captain.

According to CNN, the brave crew members were identified as purser David Kimotho and attendant John Muchina.

During the assault, the aircraft plummeted from 34,000 feet to approximately 16,600 feet in just over two minutes.

Responding to screams from the cockpit, Kimotho, Muchina, fellow crew, and passengers forced their way inside, subdued the assailant, and rendered immediate aid to the wounded captain while speaking in Kenyan Swahili.

Exclusive video footage captured the intense moments following the struggle, showing Kimotho and Muchina stabilising the injured captain and reassuring those on board that they had secured the aircraft.

The crew successfully diverted the plane to Saudi Arabia, landing safely despite Israel scrambling fighter jets in response to the emergency signal.

While investigators continue examining the co-pilot’s motives and lingering questions regarding potential crew collusion, official findings credit the crew’s rapid intervention with preventing a catastrophic crash.
