Rasheedat Ajibade struck the woodwork in the 26th minute, while Gloria Ogbonna failed to convert the rebound as her effort went wide.
Despite Nigeria’s sustained pressure, Comoros held firm to keep the score goalless at half-time.

Alozie and Kanu seal Nigeria’s victory
The Super Falcons broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half through Alozie.

Super Falcons face Comoros again on Tuesday
Both teams will meet again on Tuesday for the second leg at the same venue.
Friday’s match was designated as a home fixture for Comoros, also known as Les Coelacanths, because the island nation does not have a stadium approved by the Confederation of African Football to host international matches.
The winner of the two-legged tie will face Morocco in the next round of qualifying for the women’s football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games.
