The Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Segun Ogunwuyi, resigned from the government on Monday, becoming the latest aide to leave the administration in the past two months.

In a resignation letter dated October 12, 2026, Ogunwuyi said his departure took effect from that date.

Ogunwuyi, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, is one of several aides of Makinde who have resigned recently.

He added, “I remain immensely proud of what we have collectively accomplished in advancing the growth, development and prosperity of our dear State. As I take this decision, I do so with profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve, with confidence in the continued progress of Oyo State.”

“Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest esteem and unwavering loyalty to Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

In July, Makinde’s Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Sikiru Bayo Titilola-Sodo, also resigned his appointment to pursue his ambition of becoming the state’s next governor in the 2027 general election under the platform of the Action Alliance (AA).
