Entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers gathered in Kigali, Rwanda, for the third edition of the Innovate Africa Conference, an event examining how Africa can build its next trillion-dollar economy.
Discussions centre on technology, agriculture, energy and the creative economy, four sectors seen as key to unlocking growth, investment and job creation across the continent. Delegates are looking beyond Africa’s potential to what it will take to turn that potential into businesses, jobs and lasting prosperity.
Organisers argue that ambition alone will not deliver results. The real test lies in execution: creating an environment where businesses can grow, investors can find viable opportunities and African innovators can take their ideas beyond the drawing board.

For many businesses, access to funding, infrastructure, skills, and markets remains a critical hurdle, making investment a central theme, especially for startups trying to scale.
The conference also aims to do more than raise money. It is designed to connect founders with the financial and social capital that can help their businesses grow.
For startups, that could mean funding, stronger networks, mentorship and the partnerships needed to reach new markets. For investors, it offers a chance to identify businesses that can solve real problems and create value across African economies.
