Nigerian ‘Try Me” Singer Tems Refuses to Eat in Uganda

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi polularly known by the stage name “Tems” has decided to stay off food as she remains in police custody in Uganda.

The singer was arrested in Uganda alongside fellow Nigerian musician “Omah lay”. Both have been in police custody since Sunday night the day of their arrest. They were charged in a magistrate court in Makindye, Uganda, on Monday for “negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious disease C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act.

In a video currently making the rounds on social media, Tems is seen telling a woman “… it’s my body, it’s my life, what if I want to die? I don’t want to eat, unless you are strapping me to a chair and forcing food down my mouth”

It has been almost 48 hours since the arrest was made.
