Gombe State, Nigeria, Imposes Curfew in 3 Communities

The Governor of Gombe State, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has declared a 24 hour curfew on three communities in Balanga Local Government, Gombe State.

The violent clash claimed lives and led to destruction of properties in the affected communities.

The affected communities are Nyuwar, Jessu and Tolde in Balanga Local Government, Gombe State. These communities share borders with Adamawa State.

Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who made the announcement, said the decision follows the violence in the communities.

The curfew became necessary to douse the tension and restore peace in the affected areas.

Security personnel have been deployed to restore normalcy while the curfew will remain until further notice.
