UN Special Rapporteurs Warn Against PVO Bill in Zimbabwe

Four United Nations (UN) rapporteurs have warned President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe against the proposed Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO) amendment, which they say will impede the enjoyment of fundamental human rights in the country.

The bill has also been criticized locally for its heavy-handedness in dealing with Non-Governmental Organisations whom the President Mnangagwa administration has often accused of pushing a regime-change agenda in the country.
