Adrien Brody has cemented his place back at the top of Hollywood’s A-list, winning his second Best Actor Oscar for his gripping performance as a Hungarian architect in The Brutalist.
The film, which explores the life of a man who emigrates to America after World War II, has earned Brody critical acclaim for his powerful portrayal of a character grappling with personal and political upheaval.
This marks Brody’s second Academy Award for a Holocaust-related film, following his win in 2003 for The Pianist, which made him the youngest actor to ever win in the category at just 29 years old.
In this year’s competition, Brody triumphed over a talented field, including Timothée Chalamet for his role in A Complete Unknown, Ralph Fiennes in Conclave, Sebastian Stan as a young Donald Trump in The Apprentice, and Colman Domingo for his performance in Sing Sing.
