Ajax won 2-0 at arch-rivals PSV Eindhoven on Sunday, taking the Amsterdam giants one step closer to a 37th Dutch league title.

Davy Klaassen and Bertrand Traoré each scored a goal after halftime to extend Ajax’s winning streak in the Eredivisie, which began in early December.

The team led by Francesco Farioli presently leads third-place Utrecht by 15 points and second-place reigning champion PSV by nine points.

The 35-year-old Italian coach came to Ajax in July 2024 to turn around a terrible season in which the team finished 35 points below PSV after several weeks at the bottom of the standings, a first for the most successful club in the Netherlands.

Ajax was ousted from the Europa League this season with two defeats to Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16.
