Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has summoned members of the Council of State and the Police Council to a strategic security meeting on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
A statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, on Monday, October 6, said the meeting will take place in a hybrid format at the Council Chambers, Aso Villa.
Permanent Secretary of the Cabinet Affairs Office, Emanso Umobong, explained that the discussions will focus on critical national issues, particularly those related to security and policing.
The Council of State session is set to begin at 1 p.m., followed by the Police Council meeting at 2 p.m. Members are expected to attend either in person or virtually.
The statement further highlighted that the high-level gathering underscores President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to addressing urgent national security challenges and strengthening Nigeria’s security framework.
