Algerian Parliament Tips President Tebboune for Second Term

The President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been encouraged to run for the 2024 Presidential Elections to get another five-year leadership.

The call was made by the Algerian Parliament on Monday, December 25, urging President Tebboune to consider contesting for a second term in office.

The Algerian president, during the conversation, mentioned that his decision to re-contest for the highest political seat was ultimately dependent on his health.

President Tebboune may run for a second and final term after being elected in December 2019 for a five-year term, in accordance with the Algerian constitution.

The North African President Tebboune made a two-day state visit to Portugal in May, where he engaged in several activities, including meeting Algerian residents, participating in a business forum, and holding discussions with the Portuguese Prime Minister.
