An American Airlines flight en route from New York to New Delhi was diverted to Rome on Sunday afternoon after a bomb scare prompted urgent action.
The Boeing 777, which was carrying 199 passengers and crew members, landed safely at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport at 5:22 pm (1622 GMT), escorted by two military fighter planes.
Airport officials confirmed that all passengers were disembarked safely and provided with assistance. Fortunately, the incident did not affect other airport operations, and the situation was handled smoothly.
