British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua has made his first public post since the car accident in Nigeria that killed two of his close friends.
Joshua posted two photos on his official account on X on Sunday with the caption, “My brother’s keeper.” The post marked his first public comment since the crash on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway late last month.

The accident claimed the lives of Latif “Latz” Ayodele, Joshua’s long-time trainer, and Sina Ghami, his strength and conditioning coach. Joshua was also in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.

The boxer had remained silent on social media since the incident, which occurred near Ogere in Ogun State on December 29, 2025. Nigerian authorities said the SUV veered off the road and collided with a stationary truck. Investigators later cited excessive speed and a burst tyre as key factors.

Joshua was treated at a private hospital in Lagos for bruises and shock and was discharged two days later. He has since returned to the United Kingdom, where he is recovering at home.
Funeral prayers for Ayodele and Ghami were held in London over the weekend, drawing large crowds to the London Central Mosque.
