The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ahoada East Constituency II by-election, Napoleon Ukalikpe, has commended voters for their participation in the River States by-election, describing the exercise as peaceful and orderly.
Ukalikpe, who spoke after casting his vote at Ogbelle Town, Unit 1, Ward 9, in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, said he was impressed by the turnout across polling units and the smooth conduct of the process.
He noted that voting proceeded without disruption, while security presence across the constituency helped maintain calm.
According to him, the level of participation observed at his polling unit reflected a broader trend across other units he visited, adding that the process remained organised and hitch-free.
“I am very happy with the turnout. There is security everywhere and so far there have been no disturbances.

“This is Unit 1, Ward 9. Look at the number of people here, then talk of other units. I have visited some other units and I am impressed with what is going on.”
He also expressed confidence in the election’s outcome, citing what he described as encouraging developments on the ground.
The APC candidate further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for efficiently managing the exercise, noting that accreditation and voting were conducted seamlessly.
He added that he was able to complete the verification process without difficulty before casting his ballot.
“I think Nigerians should be happy with what President Bola Tinubu and INEC are doing today, because I just finished voting and there was no single problem during the voting.
“I passed through all the hurdles and I saw my name in all the systems and I voted. We are here by the grace of God. We are going to celebrate because, with what I’m seeing on the ground, victory is ours.
“I am happy with the process and overwhelmed seeing what is going on here. I gave the officials my voter’s card, they processed it and I voted seamlessly. Everything went peacefully.”
Ukalikpe further acknowledged the role of President Bola Tinubu in ensuring a conducive environment for the election, stating that the process so far reflected positively on the administration’s commitment to credible polls.
