APC Sets Date for National Office Aspirants’ Screening

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed Tuesday, 24 March, for the screening of aspirants seeking national offices ahead of its March 27 National Convention.

The party said the exercise will take place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

In a notice issued on Sunday, the Secretary of the Aspirants’ Screening Committee, Isa Yuguda, stated that only aspirants who have purchased and submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will be screened.

Yuguda, a former Governor of Bauchi State, said all aspirants must appear in person for the exercise and are required to come with all relevant supporting documents for verification.

He also advised candidates to arrive early to ensure a smooth and timely screening process.

The APC had in December 2025 released a detailed timetable for its 2025/2026 nationwide ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, leading up to the national convention.

According to the schedule, the process began with the commencement of membership e-registration on Monday, 1 December 2025, and continued until 30 January 2026.

The timeline shows the process has moved through key stages, including the issuance of notices for congresses, the sale and submission of forms for ward, local government, state, and zonal positions, as well as the screening of aspirants at different levels.

Ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses have also been held, alongside the hearing of appeals arising from each stage.

The activities are set to culminate in the party’s national convention scheduled to take place from 25 to 28 March 2026.
