Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, says the reforms being implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s administration under the All Progressives Congress (APC) are building a stronger foundation for a more stable and prosperous Nigeria.

Speaking on Friday on behalf of the Progressive Governors Forum at the APC National Convention in Abuja, Uzodinma described the gathering as a moment for reflection and renewed commitment to the party’s goals.

He said the convention went beyond constitutional duty, noting that it reflected the continued growth and consolidation of the ruling party at all levels, from the ward to the national structure.

Uzodinma added that the APC had demonstrated unity, resilience and internal discipline through its congresses and organisational activities, describing its expanding membership base and digital registration drive as evidence of steady progress.

He said the party was not only built to win elections but to shape national direction, insisting that it carries the responsibility of building a fairer and more prosperous country.

Commending President Tinubu’s leadership, the governor said the administration had shown courage in carrying out difficult but necessary reforms.

He noted that decisive leadership was required to steer the country through economic challenges, adding that current policies were already laying the groundwork for long-term stability and growth.

“In moments that demanded courage, he has chosen courage. In times that required clarity, he has provided direction. Today, the foundation for a more stable economy is being firmly laid, with brighter prospects for long-term growth and development,” he said.

Uzodinma also stressed that governance must ultimately translate into tangible benefits for citizens, assuring that APC governors remained committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the Progressive Governors Forum would continue to work with the Nigerian government to expand economic opportunities, improve infrastructure, strengthen security, and support vulnerable groups across the country.

He urged party members to remain united and focused, warning against division and personal interests undermining collective goals.

“This is a moment for unity, not division; for discipline, not distraction; and for service, not self-interest. Our party must remain broad enough to accommodate diversity, disciplined enough to protect its values, and visionary enough to lead Nigeria through a changing world.”

Uzodinma reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its core principles of inclusion, accountability and national renewal, expressing confidence that the convention would further strengthen internal cohesion and position the APC for future challenges.
