Appeal Court Clears Onnoghen of False Asset Declaration

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has cleared former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, of his conviction for a false asset declaration issued by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The Umar Yakubu Danladi tribunal imposed Onnoghen’s conviction on April 18, 2019, but the Appellate Court reversed it after addressing the matters that led to his trial and conviction.
