As a reporter and camera operator, she has demonstrated versatility and dedication in delivering compelling stories across East and Southern Africa. Bongani is a News Central TV correspondent and a seasoned writer, known for her in-depth reporting and engaging storytelling. Her accolades include being a three-time Earth Journalism Network fellow, an International Women Media Foundation (IWMF) KIM WALL Grantee, and a recipient of the IWMF Gender Justice Reporting grant. She also held the Wits Investigative Journalism Fellowship in 2019, reported on malaria as a Reuters Grantee in 2020 and 2022, and is a Criminal Justice Reporting Fellow. A journalism graduate, she leverages her skills and passion to shed light on critical issues impacting her region.
