An unspecified number of people have reportedly been kidnapped after suspected bandits carried out an early-morning attack on the Omi-Ara community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to PUNCH, residents said the raid occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, though the exact number of victims and their identities had yet to be fully confirmed at the time of reporting.
They added that security agencies had been alerted, but the Kogi State Police Command had not issued an official statement.
Repeated attempts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP William Aya, were unsuccessful, as calls and text messages sent to him had not been responded to.

The latest incident adds to growing security concerns in the Yagba axis, which has witnessed a spate of kidnappings in recent months.
Between August and November, two churches, a Cherubim and Seraphim church and an ECWA church, were attacked, leading to the abduction of a pastor and his wife.
In a related development, the Odo-Ere community in the same local government area was attacked on Sunday night, during which at least four residents were reportedly kidnapped.
Residents have described the attack as chaotic and frightening, calling on security agencies and the Kogi State Government to urgently deploy additional personnel to the area and intensify efforts to secure the release of those abducted.
The total number of victims remains unclear.
