Barcelona has secured the signature of highly-rated Swedish winger Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen, the La Liga champions confirmed on Monday.
“The winger has signed for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2029,” the club announced in an official statement. The financial details were not disclosed, but Spanish reports suggest the transfer is valued at approximately €2.5 million (\$3 million).
The 19-year-old Bardghji had been a rising star at Copenhagen, netting 15 goals in 84 appearances since breaking into the first team during the 2021/22 campaign.
However, his trajectory hit a stumbling block in May 2024 when a serious knee injury sidelined him for nearly a year. He made his long-awaited return to action in March 2025, showing enough promise to convince Barça of his potential.
He is the second player to join Barcelona this summer, following the arrival of goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol. The club is actively rebuilding under new leadership and Bardghji’s signing signals continued investment in young talent.
The Sweden U21 international is expected to link up with the first team during pre-season preparations, where manager Hansi Flick will assess whether the teenager is ready to compete at the top level or will need time to adapt.
The move to Camp Nou marks a major step forward for Bardghji—one that could define the next phase of his promising career.
