Barcelona will remain at the Olympic Stadium for the remainder of the season as renovations on their iconic Camp Nou continue, the club confirmed on Thursday.
Originally, the La Liga leaders had hoped to return to their home stadium before the end of the season, but their plans to move back before 2024 have now been postponed. Club members were informed that they can purchase tickets for upcoming La Liga and Champions League matches, which will continue to be held at the Olympic Stadium, where Barcelona has been playing since the start of the 2023-24 season.
The Camp Nou’s partial reopening is now expected next season, with an initial capacity of over 60,000. However, the full completion of the massive rebuild is scheduled for the summer of 2026, at which point the stadium will hold up to 105,000 spectators.
The project, which began in June 2023, has faced delays due to issues with permits and concerns over working conditions, among other complications.
