Bayern to Face Aston Villa in Pre-Season Tour

Bayern Munich will play Aston Villa in an August pre-season friendly in Hong Kong, the German giants said on Friday, also announcing a match in South Korea.

Before the clash with Villa, Bayern will first face the South Korean side Jeju SK on August 4 in a warm-up match. The team will then fly to Hong Kong for their August 7 meeting with Villa.

The two teams faced off last season in the Champions League, with Villa securing a narrow 1-0 victory thanks to a goal by Jhon Duran.

Bayern will be looking to continue their momentum, bolstered by the likes of South Korean international Kim Min-jae, who plays a crucial role in their defence.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, are riding high with a strong campaign and hopes to push further in the Europa League, with the team having one foot in the semi-finals. The club is also contemplating additional fixtures in the Far East, as confirmed on their official website.

This pre-season tour is crucial for both teams to balance their preparations with player welfare, especially considering the World Cup later in the year.
