The Benue State government has announced that Wednesday, June 18, will be observed as a work-free day, according to a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Deborah Aber, on Tuesday in Makurdi, the state capital.
“This is in honour of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who is scheduled for a one-day visit to the state.” The statement read.
Aber encouraged the residents of Benue to turn out in large numbers to welcome the President and his team.

On Monday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that Tinubu would be visiting Benue State on Wednesday as part of renewed efforts to promote peace and tackle the ongoing conflicts affecting communities.
Tinubu was initially scheduled to visit Kaduna State on Wednesday to inaugurate several projects by the state government.
