BREAKING: West African Defence Chiefs Meet in Abuja

Defence Chiefs from West Africa  are holding an emergency meeting at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting is coming following a seven-day ultimatum issued by
the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to the military junta in Niger Republic to vacate office and hand over to the democratically elected government of President Muhammed Bazoum.

Speaking after the extraordinary session led by its Chairman, President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Omar Touray, said all Chiefs of Defence Staff of the member states would proceed for an emergency meeting to strategise on effective ways to implement a possible military campaign to restore Muhammed Bazoum to office.
