One person has died, and two others were injured after a fuel truck exploded near a bridge crossing the Panama Canal on Monday, authorities said.
The blast occurred at a fuel supply facility for tanker trucks located close to the Bridge of the Americas, which spans the canal.

Security footage captured a large fireball followed by a dense plume of smoke rising from the site of the explosion.
Fire service chief Víctor Álvarez said the deceased was believed to be a worker at the facility, while two firefighters sustained minor injuries during the response.
The Panama Canal Authority confirmed that canal operations were not affected by the incident.
Authorities said the bridge was closed as a precaution and would undergo inspection to assess any possible structural damage.
