Buhari, Osinbajo Get COVID-19 Vaccination

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo have been vaccinated against COVID-19 on Saturday.

The nation’s top citizens joined the health workers who were vaccinated on Friday as Nigeria began its roll out.

Nigeria on Tuesday received 3.92m doses of AstraZeneca vaccine under trade name COVIShield and has started vaccination with health workers, strategic leadership, people aged 50 and above and people with comorbidities identified as the first set.

The President and Vice President were given eCards after their vaccination and according to the Executive Secretary of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Causal Shuaib, the cards are an indication of the vaccination and can be tendered internationally.
