Cameroon have dismissed Belgian coach Marc Brys and named local coach David Pagou as his replacement.
The firing follows the team’s failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and Brys’s tumultuous relationship with the national football federation president, Samuel Eto’o, who was recently re-elected.

In a major roster shake-up ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana and veteran forward Vincent Aboubakar were both excluded from the 28-man squad.
Cameroon, five-time AFCON champions, will compete in Group F against the Ivory Coast, Gabon, and Mozambique.
DR Congo omitted Yoane Wissa, and Egypt selected Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush for the AFCON competition.
