Cedi Sells at GH¢10.35 in Interbank Market

Ghana’s cedi has weakened against major foreign currencies on the interbank market, with the US dollar seeing the most significant gain.

According to the Bank of Ghana’s latest daily update, the cedi is now trading at a buying rate of GH¢10.34 and a selling rate of GH¢10.35 to the dollar—up from its previous rates of GH¢10.31 and GH¢10.32, respectively.

The British pound is being bought at GH¢14.05 and sold at GH¢14.06, while the euro is trading at GH¢12.12 for buying and GH¢12.13 for selling.

Market checks by GhanaWeb Business on the morning of July 9, 2025, show that the cedi is trading at GH¢12.35 to the dollar in some forex bureaus, with the pound going for GH¢17.00 and the euro at GH¢14.50 on the retail market.

In a bid to help stabilise the currency, the Bank of Ghana has recently received $360 million from the International Monetary Fund.
