Christmas: Nigeria Declares Monday, Tuesday as Public Holidays

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, Tuesday, December, 25 and 26 2023, and Monday, January 1, 2024, as public holidays for Christmas and New Year’s Day celebrations, a statement said on Friday.

Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo disclosed this while felicitating with Christians within the country and the diaspora on behalf of the Federal Government.

 The minister assured that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will ensure effective measures to secure lives and properties.

He reminded Nigerians to be security conscious and alert the nearest security agencies when they suspect any suspicious persons or movements.

He restated that the Yuletide season calls for discipline to protect the lives and property of everyone in their respective communities and the nation as a whole
