Commonwealth Games: Nigeria Rises Up To 6th On Medals Table To Lead Africa

Team Nigeria has risen to sixth on the medals table of the Commonwealth Games currently ongoing in Birmingham City.

Nigeria has so far won 30 medals, comprising nine gold medals, eight silver medals and thirteen bronze medals and lead the African charge at the games.

South Africa with 26 medals and eighth on the log is the second best African team with seven gold medals, eight silver medals and eleven bronze medals.

Kenya are twelfth on the log with 13 medals comprising four gold medals, five silver and seven bronze medals. 

Uganda are thirteeth on the log and are the fourth best African team with five medals – three gold and two bronze medals.

Team Nigeria has racked medals in wrestling, weightlifting and para-athletics events and is in the finals of the men’s 4x100m relays, 200m men and women’s relay.
