Court Forfeits $13 Million Linked to Achimugu’s Firm

A High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth about ₦8.9 billion linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Nigerian Government.

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the order while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The forfeited assets include jewellery valued at ₦4.65 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth ₦4.29 billion, $50,000, and ₦30 million in cash.

The EFCC had asked the court to permanently forfeit the assets, arguing that investigations showed they were linked to unlawful activities.

In his ruling, Justice Onwugbuzie upheld the commission’s application and ordered the final forfeiture of the jewellery, vehicles and cash to the Nigerian Government.
