Davido Reacts as Father Confirms DNA Results

Afrobeats star Davido has reacted after his father, Deji Adeleke, publicly confirmed that DNA tests cleared him in the long-running paternity dispute involving a girl identified as Aanu.

Davido shared his reaction on Thursday via his X account.

 “Thank you my loving Father … ❤️🙏,” he wrote.

Davido’s father had addressed journalists on Wednesday at his residence in Lagos, where he stated that multiple DNA tests conducted in Lagos confirmed that Davido is not the biological father of the child.

He said the family relied on scientific evidence to resolve the issue, noting that paternity claims must be guided by DNA results.

According to him, three DNA tests were conducted on Davido, with two returning negative results and a third declared invalid due to sample contamination.

He added that additional tests were conducted to rule out any possible confusion with Davido’s cousin, which also returned negative results.

The latest development follows a public appeal made earlier this year by Aanu in a lengthy Instagram post, in which she asked Davido to grant her a DNA test to establish her identity.

Aanu said she and her mother had endured years of hardship, adding that she remained focused on her education and now serves as a school prefect.

She said she no longer discusses her family background publicly.

Anu disclosed in the post that she had previously messaged Davido directly. She clarified that she had been engrossed in her studies since she was six years old, but she still sobbed every day at home.

She also revealed that she had to seek professional assistance for her mental health after experiencing mental torture.

Anu claimed that whenever she mentioned that Davido is her father, her classmates would frequently make fun of her.

“Today I drafted a letter I wrote from the depths of my heart, not with help from my relatives. As I grow older, I want to establish my identity. I was bullied in school since I was 6 years old and cried at home daily,” she wrote.

“Other students laughed at me when I told them my father was Mr David Adeleke. I went through a lot of mental anguish and visited a medical professional to protect my mental health. It was a sad, challenging time in my life….

“However, on that note, as I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke Singer @davido for a DNA 🧬 test to establish my identity. This test is between my dad and I.

“It is something I want. It is something that’s the right thing to do. Please sir, consider my request once you read this post. I also sent it to your DM.”

Davido responded in the post’s comments, stating that he had already undergone multiple DNA tests, all of which were negative.

He wrote, “I’ve taken 5 DNA tests, all negative. I am not your father.

“Never met your mom. She’s an obsessed fan lying to you. This needs to stop. I actually have children. Stop this nonsense.”
