Deadly Dam Collapse in Sudan Kills At Least 60 People

According to local media reports, a dam collapsed in eastern Sudan on Monday due to heavy rains, resulting in at least 60 confirmed fatalities.

Several individuals are still unaccounted for following the collapse of the Arbat Dam, which serves as a crucial source of fresh water for Port Sudan City.

Reports from the Sudanese daily Al-Taghyeer indicate that villages near the dam were inundated by floods, causing widespread destruction after the water crashed into surrounding mountains before returning to the villages.
