A Delta Air Lines passenger jet crash-landed at Toronto Pearson Airport on Monday, flipping upside down upon arrival from Minneapolis.
At least eight people were injured, including three critically, one of whom was a child, according to local media reports.
Emergency teams responded quickly, and all passengers and crew members were accounted for.
The crash occurred as Endeavor Flight 4819 was attempting to land in Toronto, with images emerging of passengers walking away from the wreckage and shielding themselves from strong wind gusts.
Witnesses, including a passenger named John Nelson, reported that while most passengers appeared to be unharmed, the plane was left upside down after the crash.
Federal Transport Minister Anita Anand confirmed there were 80 passengers aboard. At the same time, Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed relief that there were no fatalities, emphasising the swift support from local and airport authorities.
This incident follows a massive snowstorm that struck eastern Canada on Sunday, with harsh winds and cold temperatures still affecting Toronto on Monday.
