The Delta State Police Command has achieved significant breakthroughs in its fight against crime, recently arresting a dangerous kidnap gang and seizing 247 rounds of ammunition during a coordinated operation.
Acting on intelligence provided by Commissioner of Police (CP) Abaniwonda Olufemi, the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) successfully disrupted a major kidnapping plot. This scheme had targeted prominent individuals in Sapele and Oghara.
The alleged gang leader, Owei Abebo (also known as “Adusa”), was caught alongside several accomplices in both Delta and Edo States. Among those arrested were spiritualists believed to have supplied charms and ritual items to empower the criminals.

In a separate operation conducted on July 21, 2025, police operatives collaborated with the Nigerian Army to raid a residence in Post Housing Estate, Effurun. This led to the arrest of 184 suspected internet fraudsters.
Authorities confiscated numerous items, including 273 laptops, 97 smartphones, an iPad, chargers, and Wi-Fi routers during the raid.
CP Olufemi praised his officers for their professionalism and bravery.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring Delta State remains a hostile environment for all criminal activities.
