She explained that the payments include recoveries from long-standing insurance obligations and noted that steps had been taken to ensure compliance by insurance providers and prevent delays in settling claims. She also reaffirmed the unit’s focus on delivering services in a transparent and accountable manner.

Speaking at the event, Disu described the gesture as a recognition of the sacrifices made by officers who died in the line of duty, stressing that personnel welfare remains a key focus of his leadership.

He noted that the initiative goes beyond financial assistance, explaining that it represents the Force’s responsibility to honour the service and dedication of fallen officers while supporting their families.

The IGP added that efforts would be intensified to improve welfare structures, enhance administrative processes, and eliminate delays in benefit payments.

He also said the Force plans to adopt modern technology to improve transparency, streamline claims processing, and strengthen accountability.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated that the sacrifices of its fallen officers remain vital to the country’s peace, security and stability.
