EFCC Arrests Fraud Suspects at Obasanjo’s Hotel

A team of operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested several youths suspected to be internet fraudsters at the Green Legacy Hotel, located within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The anti-graft operatives reportedly raided the facility in the early hours of Sunday during a pool party on the library grounds.

Just five days earlier, operatives from the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate arrested a suspected internet fraudster in possession of two locally made pistols during a raid at K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State. That operation led to the arrest of 55 suspects.

“Literally left my house past midnight to go to OOPL, got there and the crowd was too much. I don’t like the setting, my guy doesn’t like the setting, so we were just at the car park.
Left around 1:30, and 20 minutes after getting home, I started receiving calls that EFCC was raiding OOPL.”

Confirming the incident, the Managing Director of OOPL Ventures, Vitalis Ortese, said:

“There was an incident this morning. We will find out and we will let you know.”
