The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 47 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Ekpoma, Edo State.
The arrests were carried out on Saturday, February 15, 2025, by operatives from the Benin Zonal Directorate.
According to the EFCC, the operation was based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to online fraudulent activities.
During the raid, officials seized 14 luxury vehicles, several laptops, and mobile phones believed to have been used for cybercrime.
The Commission stated that the suspects have provided useful information to investigators and will be prosecuted once investigations are completed.
