Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia as the Middle East is engulfed by tensions following Saturday’s coordinated strike launched on Iran by the United States and Israel.
El-Sisi affirmed his support for Saudi Arabia on a phonecall with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Saturday. The duo discussed the impacts of the ongoing escalation on regional security and stability.
Saudi Gazette reported that the Egyptian President affirmed his support for the measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability in response to the Iranian attacks that targeted the Kingdom earlier in the day and undermined regional security.

The United States and Israel carried out strikes against Iran, involving air and missile attacks on Iranian targets. According to US President Donald Trump, the strikes were aimed at degrading Iran’s capability after tensions had been rising.
In retaliation, Iran fired missiles/drone strikes toward Riyadh and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, which Saudi officials said were repelled. Saudi Arabia condemned these attacks and said it reserves the right to defend itself.
Saudi Crown Prince also discussed Iranian aggression against the Kingdom and other Arab countries on phone calls with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
