Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the state’s executive council, according to a statement released on Sunday.
Oyebanji, however, retained the services of the Attorney-General of the state, as well as the commissioners for health and human services, agriculture, education, works, and trade.
The statement released on Sunday by Habibat Adubiaro, the Secretary to the state government, directed the affected commissioners and special advisers to transfer their responsibilities to the permanent secretary or the highest-ranking civil servant in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
“Governor Oyebanji thanks the affected members of the state executive council and wishes them success in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
“However, the dissolution does not affect the state attorney general and commissioner for justice.

“Also not affected by the dissolution are the commissioner for health and human services; commissioner for agriculture and food security; education commissioner; commissioner for works; commissioner for trade, investment, industry and cooperatives; special adviser, special education and social inclusion; and special adviser lands, survey and e-GIS.
The statement also directed all directors general who are members of the state executive council to retain their positions.
