The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has informed customers of a scheduled power outage across parts of Lagos on Saturday, March 14, to allow maintenance work on the electricity network.
The company disclosed this in a power update released to customers on Sunday, stating that the outage will last from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. According to the notice, the temporary disruption is necessary to enable contractors working for the Transmission Company of Nigeria to carry out maintenance and upgrade works on the power network.
The firm explained that the exercise is aimed at improving electricity service delivery in the affected areas.

“Dear valued customer, kindly be informed of a planned power outage scheduled as follows: Date: Saturday, 14th March 2026. Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
“This outage is required to allow Transmission Company of Nigeria contractors carry out essential maintenance and upgrade works on the network to improve service delivery,” it said.
Communities expected to experience the outage include Apapa, Kirikiri, Ajegunle, Mobil Road and nearby areas.
Eko DisCo apologised to customers for the inconvenience the planned outage may cause and appealed for their understanding while the work is carried out.
