Federal Government Commences Police Reforms

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced efforts aimed at reforming the Police force.

This is a fall out of the famous #EndSARS protests by Nigerians over Police brutality and abuse of human rights in late 2020. The Endsars protest leaf many dead with property worth billions destroyed.

Nigeria’s Minister of Police affairs Mohammed Dingyadi, while setting up a committee to look at cases of violation of citizens rights tasked the new committee to monitor the conduct of Police personnel.

He urged them to ensure public complaints are attended to in a transparent and just manner.
