Ex-Real Madrid Midfielder Isco Injured Again

Real Betis playmaker Isco has suffered a second leg fracture, the club confirmed on Sunday via social media. The 33-year-old former Real Madrid star sustained the injury during a friendly match against Malaga on Saturday.

Betis described the injury as a “new non-displaced fracture to the middle third of his left fibula.” This marks the second time Isco has fractured his leg, having previously suffered the same injury in May 2024.

After his return to action last December, Isco played a key role in helping Betis secure a sixth-place finish in La Liga, which earned them qualification for the Europa League. He also captained the side in the Europa Conference League final, where they were defeated 4-1 by Chelsea.

Isco’s strong performances last season led to his first call-up to the Spanish national team since 2019. He featured as a substitute in the Nations League final and scored in the penalty shootout loss to Portugal.
