An explosion hit Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, leaving at least four people injured, according to authorities and eyewitness accounts.
Two witnesses told AFP they heard a loud blast followed by a plume of smoke rising from the iconic man-made island.
 One of them reported seeing thick black smoke billowing from a hotel, with emergency vehicles, including ambulances, rushing to the scene shortly after.
The Dubai Media Office confirmed that an incident in a building on Palm Jumeirah triggered a fire, which has since been brought under control by emergency responders.

It added that four people were injured and taken to medical facilities for treatment.
“Dubai Civil Defence has confirmed that the resulting fire is now under control. Four individuals sustained injuries and have been transferred to medical facilities.”Â
The incident targeting a Dubai landmark shocked residents, with multiple loud bangs reportedly heard across parts of the city.
The explosion comes as Iran launched retaliatory strikes across Gulf nations following attacks by the United States and Israel, raising concerns in a region long regarded as relatively stable.
Iran launched strikes on all the oil-rich Gulf countries except for Oman, a mediator in the US-Iran talks.
