An explosion has damaged a pro-Israeli centre in the Netherlands, though authorities confirmed there were no injuries and only minimal structural damage.

Police said the blast occurred late Friday outside the gate of a facility run by the group Christians for Israel in the central city of Nijkerk, adding that the premises were empty at the time.

According to investigators, surveillance findings suggest a person dressed in black placed an explosive device at the scene before it detonated.

The organisation said it was “shocked” by the incident, describing it as part of what it called a growing pattern of attacks targeting Jewish and pro-Israeli institutions across parts of Europe.

It also noted that the timing of the blast, on the eve of Easter, made the incident particularly disturbing, although it acknowledged that physical damage was limited.

“The damage was limited, but the impact is significant,” the group said in a social media post.

“The fact that this took place on the eve of Easter, the most important celebration for Christians, makes it all the more poignant.”

Police, however, said it remains too early to determine the motive behind the explosion, stressing that no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

Authorities said they are appealing for witnesses and reviewing evidence to identify those responsible.

The incident follows a series of similar attacks reported in recent months in countries including Belgium and the United Kingdom.

Ambulances run by Jewish volunteers were set on fire in London, a car was torched in Antwerp, synagogues hit with explosives in Liege and Rotterdam, and a Jewish school targeted in Amsterdam, since the US-Israeli war against Iran began in late February.

The attacks have raised concerns about a rise in targeted vandalism and intimidation linked to tensions in the Middle East.
