The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has launched an inquiry into an incident involving a well-known Fuji artist, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, famously referred to as K1 De Ultimate, due to an alleged violation of airport security protocols at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
In a statement released on Wednesday, FAAN said that the incident took place on Monday, August 5, 2025, during the boarding process for a ValueJet Airlines flight (Flight VK 201) bound for Lagos.
The announcement, signed by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, said, “Initial investigations have confirmed that the passenger was set to board the morning flight to Lagos operated by ValueJet Airlines (Flight VK 201).”
“During boarding, the passenger attempted to carry an unidentified liquid substance on board despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security personnel and the Flight Captain.”
FAAN further explained that the artist attempted to board the plane with a flask containing liquid, which contravenes aviation security regulations that restrict liquids in hand luggage to no more than 100ml.
“In accordance with international aviation security standards, specifically, Nigeria’s National Civil Aviation Security Programme and ICAO Annexe 17, liquids exceeding 100ml are not permitted through security screening unless medically necessary and properly declared.
“The passenger was informed of this regulation but reportedly declined to comply,” the statement read.
The scenario escalated when the artiste moved to the front of the aircraft and refused to leave the area despite repeated requests from airline staff.
The agency reassured the public that all individuals found responsible will be held accountable under the law.
