Daniel Nuhu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victory in the Kwali Area Council chairmanship election, defeating his closest rival by a wide margin. The result marks a decisive win for the ruling party in one of the key council areas within the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the official figures released at the collation centre, Nuhu polled 17,032 votes to emerge the winner of the contest. His main challenger, Haruna Pai of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 8,575 votes, underscoring the APC candidate’s strong showing in the local polls.

The returning officer formally declared the result after collation from the various polling units across the council area was completed. In line with electoral procedure, the declaration confirmed that Nuhu met the statutory requirements and secured the highest number of valid votes cast in the election.
The win in Kwali means APC has now won in three of the four area councils whose results have been announced. Apart from Kwali, APC also won in AMAC and Bwari area councils, while the PDP won in Gwagwalada.
