One of the five people arrested this week in connection with the major jewel theft at the Louvre Museum appeared before a magistrate on Saturday.

The judge is set to rule on whether to hold the 38-year-old woman in detention.

The suspect, who lives in the La Courneuve suburb north of Paris, has been formally charged with two crimes: complicity in organised theft and criminal conspiracy to commit a crime.
