Angel Gomes, the former Manchester United midfielder, is preparing to join Marseille after agreeing terms with the Ligue 1 club, it was confirmed on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old will arrive as a free agent once his contract with Lille expires at the end of June. Gomes has spent the past four seasons with Lille following his departure from Manchester United in 2020.
During his time at Old Trafford, Gomes — a product of United’s academy and a lifelong supporter of the club — made 10 first-team appearances. Since moving to France, he has featured regularly for Lille, registering 10 goals across 134 appearances in all competitions.
His move to Marseille marks the next chapter in a career that has seen him develop into a creative midfield talent in Ligue 1.
